2012 is set to be a busy one for 'So Called Scumbags' James Edwards & David Minns. With a string of original releases in the pipeline, as well as collaborations with the likes of D.O.N.S, Jonathan Ulysses, Tim Cullen, Jason Chance and Lizzie Curious already in motion, this year looks set to start with a bang!
Appearances at Ministry of Sound, Pacha LDN & Egg have already been confirmed for early 2012 as has their residency at Gigalum with their label 'Grin Recordings'. Grin will be hosting five dates at Gigalum throughout the year with guests including Kaiserdisco, Pleasurekraft and Paolo Mojo.
2011 was a ground breaking year for the guys. They launched their label Grin Recordings, with releases Punch and Bambu Jam leading to DMC Chart positions and claiming #1 sales position in Trackitdown & Traxsource charts. 'Punch' was included on Erick Morillo's 'Subliminal Invasion’ compilation and gained heavy support from Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim) amongst many others. The follow up ‘Bambu Jam’ has recently also been signed to a compilation. The forthcoming ‘SKINT’ Records release ‘Back to the Boutique’ mixed by Sonny Wharton. National radio also took note of the noise being made with the guys featuring twice on Andi Durrant's Weekend Players on Capital FM alongside the likes of Mark Knight, Frankie Knuckles and Michael Woods. Their performances over the year saw appearances at Space Ibiza for the BE@ launch party where they performed on the Terrace alongside Wally Lopez & Fedde Le Grand. The festival season saw them take to the decks at Southern Sounds on Clapham Common (supporting acts such as Freestylers & Adam Freeland) and the Good Weekend Festival in Wiltshire.
